We knew this day would come! Really we did, I just don't think we were totally prepared. We're pretty sure it's official though, the terrible two's have definitely made their presence known in the Kunz household.
Isabella has had a difficult couple of weeks. (Maybe you've noticed since we haven't written anything on here since Halloween!) It's a funny thing...those terrible two's. I know it affects every child differently and I know that a lot of it has to do with the frustration these little kids feel when their brains want to do something but their little bodies aren't quite capable of it yet. That would frustrate me too!
So Bella is definitely feeling the frustration...but she is also going through a very obsessive stage right now. Her shoes have to be put on "just the right way" or inevitable she ends up throwing them across the room, screaming at the same time. When she is thirsty her drink has to be put into a specific cup (heaven forbid if it happens to be dirty). At mealtimes, if her fork doesn't pick up her food on the first try, pretty much any hope of her continuing to eat is lost amidst the tantrum that always follows.
Somehow Jared and I have been able to keep a sense of humor through all of this, which makes this stage a little easier to get through. Thankfully we are in this together and we are able to work really well as a team....One of us finishes dinner while the other attends to a little girl and her timeout!
In the meantime I am becoming quite good at deep breathing exercises...sort of what I assume Lamaze classes would be like...but there are those days when I just end up crying right along will Bella. In the end though we both feel a little better:)
So if you don't see us on here for a while...no, we haven't gone on some exotic vacation, or now lead a lavish lifestyle...we simply have an almost two year old (December 18th is her Birthday!) and all the fun that comes along with it...wink...wink!
Here are a couple of pictures for your viewing pleasure...

Good luck with all this! Have you read "Happiest Toddler on the Block"? I just found out about it, and will be reading it soon to prepare for the terrible twos for Cody. Jacob never was a tantrum thrower, but I kinda think that Cody will be! You can see it in his eyes... he'll be a hellion.
Well at least she is cute!! I love the rain boots! I can't wait for Ava to be 2!! :)
I love the picture of her in the rain boots! Too cute. Good luck with the terrible two's!
Haha. Holly, your blogs are too funny. Thanks for making me laugh. At least I know I'm not the only one going through this. Sometimes I wonder if Hayden is OCD because he goes around closing doors and cupboards after me. lol
