It is a sad day in the Kunz household. Our darling little Bella has decided that she wants nothing to do with nap time. So her brave...and totally exhausted mother...has chosen to meet her half way.
Sleeping has always been an issue with Isabella. Now that she is very much a two year old she is learning to exert her independence anyway she can...and quite honestly the two hour fight to get her to take a nap just isn't worth it.
So during her usual nap time we will instead have quite time where she can play with or read anything and everything in her room. So we'll see how this goes...hopefully this is just a phase...then again, it's probably not.
Any suggestions?? Send them my way!
Other than the nap time fiasco life here has been pretty good...except for the fact that Bella truly thinks that a robot is living in her closet!
This all started about a week ago. She was watching a show on PBS called "Word World." On this show one of the characters build a robot. Thus started Bella's fascination with ROBOTS. Now, every time we go into her room she starts telling me about the robot in her closet. Just tonight as I was getting her ready for bed she was literally having a conversation with this imaginary Robot pleading with him to come out of the closet to play catch with her.
I tried to contain my giggles but this just totally baffles me. How many two year old's have imaginary friends??? Thankfully she is not afraid of Mr. Robot...She just wants him to come out and play.
Silly Girl!

Oh Holly, I'm so sorry to hear that naptime might be gone. I love naptime. It's my time to regain my sanity. Good luck with quiet time. I really hope it works for you guys!
The Robot friend is really funny. I don't think too many kids have a robot friend.
I think quiet time is a great idea. You still need the break even if she doesn't want it!
When cameron stopped taking naps I moved up her bed time because she got SOOOOO moody! SO now at 630 we take a bath and go to bed she is usally asleep by 7:00 7:30. It is so nice, and she is much happier!
Suggestions: for your sanity, definitely continue with quiet time at the very least. Mommies need that time to refuel for the rest of the day. Um, did you know that you, Angie, Stephanie and Denise all have The R House on their blog "friends." Am I suppose to know this chicka?
Speaking of Robots... Remember Nichole Kidman and Mike Meyers in "Hyper Hypo?"
To quote Nicole- "I'm a robot, I'm talking like a robot"
AHHH good times.
