Every year I have the best intentions to make the holidays something spectacular....you know like a week full of making adorable crafts, homemade goodies, and darling decorations...all leading up to an amazing party thrown by yours truly.
However, no matter how good my intentions are I have to face reality. I am just not that kind of person. Honestly, I am not the type of mom who is going to throw her children lavish birthdays with amazing details. Nor am I the type of mom who spends hours in the kitchen baking delectable treats my family swoons over. Its just not me...and that's okay.
So even though I am not a Martha Stewart in the making...this years Easter was really fun...simple...but fun.
My good friend and I got together and colored Easter Eggs with the kids on Friday.
On Saturday our friends came over to have an Easter egg hunt in the back yard which the kids of course, loved.
And here it is the much anticipated Easter photo that shows off just how adorable your children are in their Easter outfits.............
......Yep, this was the best I could do.
One other thing I claim not to be is a photographer. I could have sat outside for an hour trying to get these kiddos to cooperate, and made sure the lighting was perfect but I was hungry and tired...and remember I am just not that kind of Mom.
I am the kind of mom who tried really hard to remind her children how grateful we are for what Easter really is. Jesus Christ is our Savior, he was resurrected, and we can live with him again!

Ok, first I want to say that I'm glad you're not baking delectable "teats". hehe. ;) And second, at least you got a picture of your kids. The best I could do was get one of mine in their pjs in our dark kitchen before church.
You are an excellent mom, Holly. I think sometimes there is pressure (especially within the church) to be creative and plan all these big, elaborate crafts & activities for our kids to do. In the end, I doubt that's what our kids will look back and remember as they grow up. They'll remember a feeling they had or a quiet moment where mom/dad read to them from the scriptures. Yes, fun things are nice, but you don't have to be creative or throw big birthday parties for children to feel happy and loved, OR to be a good mom.
Sounds like you are the perfect kind of mom. :) Glad you guys had a fun Easter.
