Our California Adventure

We are back, safe and sound, from sunny southern California. It was a fun-filled week of visiting family, meeting Shamu, and relaxing on the beach.

After enduring the really long 18 hour drive with one toddler screaming in the back seat we are happy to be home. This was our first road trip since bringing Bella home 2 and a half years ago.

We are so grateful to Jared's brother, Justin, and Sister-In-Law, Heidi, for making us feel so welcome.

So...here are some highlights from our trip.

Aquarium of the Pacific

This aquarium was really cool, but Bella was a bit out of sorts that day. The aquarium was really crowded and about every 20 feet or so our little girl would throw a giant tantrum.

...but it's hard to stay frustrated at someone as cute as this!

Next up...

Sea World!

Sea World was so awesome! Bella loved watching the whales jump and splash, she was screaming at the top of her lungs in excitement..."IT'S A BIG WHALE!!!"

We had the opportunity to see the shamu show twice. The second time was at the end of the day. Jared got seats in the 7th row...which is the SOAK ZONE. And yes we got soaked!!!

Holly even got a private tour of the back area of the park where all the animals hang out. She only got this tour because as she was chasing after Bella out an emergency exit only door...the door closed and locked. So there she was with Bella in tow right in the middle of a courtyard surrounded by dolphins and other various sea life. Thankfully a nice visiting veterinarian showed us how to get back out.

This was such a fun day. We have some pretty funky tan lines and spent way too much money but it was worth every penny.

Crystal Cove Beach

This was a much needed vacation. Despite the tantrums, long hours in the car and the large quanities of cookies that we kept handing Bella just to keep her happy...We had a wonderful time.

And it's pictures like these that make it all worth it.

That looks like so much fun! (I'm still not brave enough to go on a road trip with my little one.) And by the way, you look gorgeous in those pics! :)

I'm glad you guys had a good time. I'm jealous. I can't wait until we can take a fun vacation like that.

So, we need to get together soon.

Awww man, such cute pictures! My favorites are of Isabella with the sunglasses and Capri-Sun and on the rock with Daddy at the beach...

What a fun vacation. We're heading out on ours in 2 weeks and I can't wait.

We have a Sea World in San Antonio and my 4 year old wants her b-day party there...your pictures have me excited, we haven't been in over 3 years.
